HYOGO PERFORMING ARTS CENTER ORCHESTRA announces auditions for the following openings.

7 Violins

2 Violas

1 Cello

2 Double Basses

2 Oboes

1 Timpani & Percussion


The Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra was established in 2005 as a resident orchestra exclusively affiliated with the Hyogo Performing Arts Center under Yutaka Sado, artistic director.

During a three-year term, 48 international Core Members under the age of 35 engage in a variety of performance opportunities including full orchestra and chamber orchestra concerts, a fully-staged opera, and chamber ensemble performances of standard and modern repertoire. Core Members are joined in these performances by leading conductors, guest players and coaches from around the world. The HPAC program offers the professional development to Core Members through master-classes and private lessons with visiting artists.

Qualified Core Member will be engaged for the period beginning on September 1, 2022 and ending on August 31, 2023. Contract can be renewed up to August 31, 2025 under the terms of the contract. A maximum of 220 orchestra service days shall be scheduled each contract year.

Compensation based upon the contract agreement is 3,600,000JPYen, pre-tax, (approximately US$ 32,415, € 27,952)* per year, and will be paid in 12 monthly installments. Each Core Member is responsible for withholding tax, local tax, rent, utilities and Japanese social insurance payments.

*Exchange rate of US$1 = 111.06JPYen , €1 = 128.79JPYen (as of October, 2021) is applied for calculation
